Check-In Time!

Hey, all! It's Check-In Time!

Today’s blog post is going to be a little different. It’s more just a check-in blog post about what’s going on in my world at the moment and what’s to come in the future! I don’t want to drag this intro out too long, so let’s get right into it.

WHAT ARE FRIENDS FOR? is going on tour!

For the next month, WHAT ARE FRIENDS FOR? is being toured with Silver Dagger Book Tours! How exciting is that?! I've never done a book tour before, but absolutely cannot wait!

If you want to pop by one of the stops (and enter the GIVEAWAY), click this link to be redirected to the Silver Dagger website and see the tour stops!

It’s April 10th, so let’s talk about some things that have happened in this year so far.

  • My birthday was yesterday (April 9th)!

  • I released the cover of OUT OF MY LEAGUE on April 6th

  • I started my YouTube Channel on March 31st (which doesn’t really count as an April check-in, but I hope that’s okay)

  • My client work has picked up a bit

  • And I’ve finished my pass through of IF THE BROOM FITS beta reading edits

You know, I’m reflecting on what’s gone on this month and I’m kind of in awe. I got a lot done and we’re not even halfway through. Camp NaNoWriMo has been great for my productivity, as well as I recently learned something that really helps my writing/editing/client work sessions.

Yeah, I have no clue what world I was living in, not using a timer. It’s completely changed my life. A few days ago, I had three projects that needed worked. None of them needed to be finished that day, but a good chunk needed to be bitten off. So I told myself, “You know what? I’ll work on my editing for an hour. Then I’ll switch to the other project for an hour. After that, I’ll switch to the third project.”

And, you guys. I got SO MUCH DONE.

The day I discovered this timer trick was the day that I finished all of my edits for IF THE BROOM FITS, and I got 25% into two of my client works that needed to get done. You can’t see me, but I’m doing a happy dance right now!

I can’t wait to start utilizing these timers into my routines now. I’m such a hard-core procrastinator, but knowing that I’m on a ticking clock will totally skyrocket my creativity.

Or, you know, I hope.

What have you accomplished this month, you guys? Anything amazing? Anything sub-par? I want to hear all about it!

I mentioned above how I recently started my YouTube channel, which you probably already know since I’ve been linking my videos to these posts. On YouTube, I post every Monday and Friday. But DON’T WORRY. I’m not going to be posting about every video on here every Monday and Friday. I’ll still stick to my normal Fridays-Are-Blog-Post-Days, and I’ll include the video that I post on Fridays in that post, but I won’t spam you with every single one of my YouTube videos. If you want to subscribe over there, you totally can, but don’t feel pressured!

I’d love to hear about topics you want to read more of. What’s something about self-publishing, publishing in general, writing, ANYTHING that you’ve always been curious about? If I don’t know, I’d love to do some research and find some answers! Let me know in the comments below!
